Wrapping it Up - Volume 14

Today started a week of solo parenting - Adam flew off to Vegas this morning. We'll have to see what gets done when I'm on my own with a non napping 3 year old.

Highlights of the Week

Two posts again - and one was from the archives! I just couldn't get my act together to actually publish anything I was working on.

I was lucky enough to get a chance to attend a toddler cooking class. Reagan had a tough time, which means I also had a tough time, but Madison loved it and it was still a great class. If you're local, it's worth checking out.

By the way, I've since solved the crepe mystery. It wasn't just G - the letters were GHI. The crepes were INTERNATIONAL crepes. I'm still calling it a G day with a dose of deliciousness.

Madison stopped napping. I need to figure out how to get everything done when I don't really get a break anymore.

She's been fine with staying in bed while her CD plays. I've decided that hour is ME time. Then the hour after that she can do her ABCmouse on the iPad or watch a show while I clean. She can help me if she wants, but that's Mommy's time. One week in, that seems to be working. We'll see if it continues.

A week ago was Welcome Sunday at church and it got me thinking back to my first week of college.

Noteworthy Happenings

First week of preschool!

Madison had a great first week. She was a little hesitant as we walked up on Tuesday and insisted that I hold her backpack. But once she was in the room, she was fine and didn't want to leave, and on Thursday she didn't give me a backward glance before starting a puzzle with her teacher. She's been asking all weekend if it's Tuesday yet.

Reagan started her library program. It was the perfect program for her. Forty five minutes of free play before stories and songs. She's spent most of her life with Madison's friends, and I love giving her a chance to play with kids her own age!

As the weather started feeling a little more "fall like" I realized that Madison doesn't have nearly enough clothes that fit. So we hit the mall to stock up. Thank GOODNESS Gymboree and Crazy 8 have good sales.

Facebook

Had some pictures to share on Facebook this week. I really hate how few people see my posts. Seriously, some of these were viewed by less than 10%. That's just silly.

Yes, I was channeling Sheldon Cooper.

I didn't get a nice vacuum so I could pick up the debris MYSELF.

The Honest Toddler is hilarious.

Didn't do too much on Twitter, but I did post this one about getting my house clean. Perhaps it's not the kids? At any rate, with Adam gone this week we'll see if it actually corrolates.

Bloggers to Check Out

Two new ones to share.

Rachel blogs at The Tao of Poop. She started blogging after feeling vaguely insulted when her pregnancy was considered a "geriatric" pregnancy, and now she shares stories about life with her kid (who doesn't consider her geriatric - yet).

Another new discovery is Phyllis at The Napkin Hoarder. I just "met" her recently in my blogging group and she's one of the nicest people I've met.

Blogkeeping

I auditioned for Blogger Idol. It's just like American Idol (which I actually haven't watched in years, so now that I think of it, I could be wrong). But instead of singing, you write. If I make the Top 12, I'll have some writing challenges that I'm both scared of and looking forward to. But if you don't try, you'll never know.

Have a great week!
