Thinking Out of the Box

Adam and I (ok, mostly me, but he does it too) love speaking in quotes from movies, TV, books, whatever.

I don't really watch the Simpsons these days, but one of my favorites is,

"There's the right way, the wrong way, and the Max Power way!"

Basically, I say this whenever I'm doing something a weird way that shouldn't be the way to do it, but it's my way.

Anyone else have one of those weird solutions that just works? Maybe one that people give you odd looks about, but you totally swear by?

Like the fact that we do the majority of our homeschool work at Starbucks? I know - it seems ridiculous. But with Adam working at home, we're both so much more productive when our distractions are limited and we have a nice dull din of background noise.

Or that I'll sit in an empty bathtub finishing up a chapter of a book, rather than getting out and dressed, or even just putting more water in the tub? It sounds bizarre - and cold - but I run my baths so hot that it's better to just air dry.

My Max Power way has people - Adam included - give me odd looks all the time, but it's not worth it to me. My Max Power way works.

And hey, Adam does it too. He has his own Max Power issues.

He'll rent a car for business trips instead of getting the mileage.

He'll bypass going to a store we are literally passing, because he'd rather order online.

Maybe it's weird, maybe it's creative, but stepping out the box works, so why not?
